Bobby Bones to Receive Distinguished Service Award and Host 2024 NAB Marconi Radio Awards at NAB Show New York

DJ Scratch to return as house DJ for the third year

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Radio and TV personality Bobby Bones will take the stage as host of the 2024 NAB Marconi Radio Awards, set to take place on October 9 during NAB Show New York. Bones will also be honored with the prestigious NAB Distinguished Service Award (DSA), the National Association of Broadcasters' highest honor.

"Bobby Bones has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to radio listeners, using his platform not just to entertain, but to uplift others and champion new voices," said NAB President and CEO Curtis LeGeyt. "His dedication to mentoring emerging talent and his influence on the evolution of modern radio make him a fitting recipient of the NAB Distinguished Service Award. We are excited to honor Bobby's achievements at this year's Marconi Radio Awards at NAB Show New York. We look forward to a great night celebrating excellence in radio and our industry's most dynamic figures."

Bones is widely known as the host of the nationally syndicated iHeartRadio program, The Bobby Bones Show, the No. 1 country morning show with millions of listeners tuning in each month. The show is a three-time CMA Award winner, a four-time ACM Award winner and earned Bones the title of the youngest-ever inductee into the National Radio Hall of Fame.

His work extends beyond radio into television, where Bones has served as host of USA Network's competition series Snake In The Grass, starred in National Geographic's Breaking Bobby Bones and has been the official in-house mentor on ABC's American Idol. He also took home the Mirrorball Trophy as the winner of season 27 of ABC's Dancing with the Stars. Additionally, Bones hosts the highly popular BobbyCast podcast, which has nearly 40 million downloads to date. As a New York Times bestselling author, his books Bare Bones: I'm Not Lonely If You're Reading This Book and Fail Until You Don't: Fight Grind Repeat have resonated with readers and his children's book, Stanley the Dog: The First Day of School, is also a best-seller.

In April, Bones hosted his seventh annual Million Dollar Show benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The radio host and television personality was joined by country and rock friends to help raise $215,000 for the hospital this year alone, bringing the total Bones has raised to $24.8 million to date.

The NAB Distinguished Service Award recognizes individuals who have made a significant impact on the industry. Past recipients include iconic figures such as Ryan Seacrest, Gordon Smith, James Brown, Jim Henson, Alan Alda, Robin Roberts, Bob Schieffer, Michael J. Fox, Mary Tyler Moore, President Ronald Reagan, Edward R. Murrow, Bob Hope, Walter Cronkite and Oprah Winfrey.

For the third consecutive year, the NAB Marconi Radio Awards will feature DJ Scratch as the house DJ, adding energy and excitement to radio's biggest night.
