NAB Statement on Supreme Court Granting Review of Media Ownership Ruling

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In response to the Supreme Court granting an appeal by the Federal Communications Commission and the National Association of Broadcasters to a lower court ruling blocking changes to broadcast media ownership regulations, the following statement can be attributed to NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith:

“NAB looks forward to presenting our case before the Supreme Court this term. For almost two decades, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals has blocked common-sense changes to outdated broadcast ownership regulations to the detriment of local journalism. The time has come to allow the FCC to modernize its rules.”
