Marvel Television's Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory to Receive Inaugural 'Created in New York' Award at 2017 NAB Show New York

-- Marvel Television Studio Heads Honored for the Creation of Industry-Defining Programming in New York City --

WASHINGTON, D.C.-- The Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb and Co-head Jim Chory will receive the inaugural Created in New York Award during the 2017 NAB Show New York at the Javits Convention Center on Wednesday, October 18. The award-winning television executive producers will also participate in a featured keynote discussion on NAB Show New York’s Keynote Stage directly following their award presentation.

The first-ever Created in New York Award honors the industry’s most innovative leaders who produce great entertainment from that distinctive location. Loeb and Chory will be honored for building Marvel into a leading television studio. Popular series they are involved in include “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Marvel’s Daredevil,” “Marvel’s Jessica Jones,” “Marvel’s Luke Cage,” “Marvel’s Iron Fist,” and most recently, “Marvel’s The Defenders,” and the upcoming “Marvel’s The Punisher" and "Marvel's Runaways."

“While turning Marvel Television into a powerhouse studio, both Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory proved it is possible to use one location – in this case, New York City – to evoke a wholly unique look and feel to multiple series,” said Chris Brown, NAB executive vice president, Conventions and Business Operations. “We can’t think of any two people more deserving of this honor as they continue to drive the industry forward through their innovations both on-screen and off.”

Following the award presentation, Loeb and Chory will participate in a discussion on how Marvel translates its world-renowned IP to screens around the globe, the role that New York plays in their productions, and how they have grown Marvel into a prolific and leading television studio.

Jeph Loeb is an award-winning film and television writer/producer. He became executive vice president and head of Marvel Television as part of the company’s expansion into television to create both live-action and animated shows based on Marvel’s catalog of characters. Loeb is also a New York Times bestselling comic book author.

Jim Chory is a multi Emmy Award-nominated television producer. His credits include “Heroes,” “American Dreams” and “The District,” among many others. He currently is an executive producer on "Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” for ABC, as well as “Marvel’s Daredevil,” Emmy and Peabody Award-winning “Marvel’s Jessica Jones,” "Marvel's Luke Cage," “Marvel’s Iron Fist,” “Marvel’s The Defenders” and the upcoming “Marvel’s The Punisher” for Netflix, “Legion” on FX, as well as the highly anticipated new series “Marvel’s Runaways” for Hulu and “The Gifted” for Fox.
