Hanson, McCoy Appointed to NAB TV Board of Directors

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rebecca Hanson, executive vice president and general counsel for HC2 Broadcasting, and DuJuan McCoy, owner of Circle City Broadcasting, were appointed to the NAB Television Board of Directors by NAB TV Board Chair Emily Barr, it was announced today. The appointments are effective immediately.

Hanson joined HC2 Broadcasting in July 2018 and is responsible for the legal and regulatory operations of the company’s television stations. Before joining HC2, she was previously head of Policy for Sinclair Broadcast Group. She previously served as senior advisor, Broadcast Spectrum with the Federal Communications Commission’s Media Bureau and on the FCC’s Incentive Auction Task Force, where she handled issues affecting participating and nonparticipating broadcasters.

Before joining the FCC, Hanson was the vice president of Business Development at Sprint Nextel from 2007 to 2009 and was Senior Vice President for Business Development at XM Satellite Radio from 2000 to 2006.

Hanson holds a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. She is on the Board of Directors for the NAB Leadership Foundation (NABLF).

McCoy is the owner of Circle City Broadcasting, which operates WISH and WNDY in Indianapolis. He previously owned and operated television stations in Indiana, Louisiana and Texas as the founder and owner of Bayou City Broadcasting. In addition to being an owner since 2007, McCoy’s has over 30 years of experience in broadcasting and broadcasting management. He has worked in different regions of the country for ownership groups such as Capitol Broadcasting, River City Broadcasting, Sinclair Broadcast Group and Fox Television stations.

McCoy currently serves on the Board of Directors for NABLF, the National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters (NABOB) and the Broadcasters Foundation of America (BFA), and is a member of the Board of Trustees at Butler University.

McCoy graduated from Butler University in 1989 with a B.S in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Sales. He is a 2007 graduate of the NABLF’s Broadcast Leadership Training Program, and currently serves as a faculty member and associate dean for the program.
