Scott Burnell to Address 2017 NAB Show Radio Luncheon

WASHINGTON, D.C.-- Global Lead for Business Development and Partner Management at Ford Motor Company Scott Burnell will speak at the NAB Show Radio Luncheon, sponsored by ASCAP and held Tuesday, April 25 in Las Vegas. Burnell will discuss Ford's impact on the future of autonomous vehicles as well as Radio's future in the car.

In 2013, Burnell created and launched the Ford Developer Program, which is the world’s first automotive developer ecosystem. The program allows developers to integrate mobile applications for in-vehicle control. To date, Burnell has welcomed nearly 20,000 developers into the global Ford Development community. Additionally, Burnell led the creation of the SmartDeviceLink (SDL). Adopted by Toyota and others, the SDL makes it possible for any original equipment manufacturer to retain branding and simplifies the integration of applications and content in vehicles.

“Scott Burnell is an expert on the longstanding and evolving relationship between radio, cars and consumers,” said NAB Executive Vice President of Radio John David. “Scott’s hands-on experience in the evolution of the auto dash offers valuable insight on the future of radio in the car.”

Prior to joining Ford, Burnell spent more than a decade developing corporate and indirect retail channels for major U.S. wireless operators. He also led the development and launch of more than 500 mobile applications and curated the mobile efforts for top brands like E! Entertainment, Maxim and Turner Networks.

The NAB Show Radio Luncheon will include the induction of nationally-syndicated radio personality Delilah into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame and the presentation of the prestigious NAB Crystal Radio Awards, which honor local radio stations for their year-round commitment to community service.
