WASHINGTON, D.C.-- PILOT, the technology division of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), will produce and host “Authoring Our Future: Developing Applications for Next Gen TV,” a live webinar that explores the capabilities of the new broadcast transmission standard. The webinar will take place Wednesday, June 1 from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Building on PILOT’s Next Gen TV Home Gateway demonstration at the 2016 NAB Show, “Authoring Our Future: Developing Applications for Next Gen TV” will explore how broadcasters can efficiently develop customized services to meet audience-specific consumption needs. Participants will gain an understanding of the workflows and processes involved with Next Gen TV.
“Next Gen TV is not just about linear video and audio,” said NAB Chief Technology Officer Sam Matheny. “It is the combination of broadcast and broadband. This webinar focuses on how through the use of HTML5 applications and downloadable content, broadcasters can create new ways to entertain and inform.”
NAB Director of Technology Education and Outreach Brian Savoie will provide introductory remarks. Panelists include:
• Will Law, Chief Architect, Media Engineering, Akamai
• Azita Manson, Principal/Founder, OpenZNet
• So Vang, Vice President, Advanced Technology, NAB
