WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to the decision by the National Football League to suspend its blackout policy for the 2015 season, the following statement can be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton:
"NAB applauds the NFL decision announced this week not to enforce the sports blackout rule in the upcoming season. As broadcasters, we want all fans to have access to NFL games, and not just those who can afford a pay TV service. This pro-consumer decision by the NFL is welcome news for all pro football fans."
