NAB Announces Speakers For Symposium at Mobile World Congress

Washington, D.C. - The National Association of Broadcasters released the full line-up of speakers for the two-day symposium, NAB Show @ Mobile World Congress "Capturing the Moment Through Mobile and Broadcast." The symposium, sponsored by Ericsson, will be held February 25-26 as part of mPowered Industries at the 2014 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The Symposium will feature influential leaders in media and technology, including Paul Brenner, senior vice president and CTO, Emmis Communications Corporation; Scott Burnell, global lead, Business Development and Management, Ford Motor Company; Bernhard Grill, head of Audio Department, Fraunhofer IIS; and Michelle Munson, president and co-founder, Aspera, Inc. As previously announced, keynote speaker James McQuivey of Forrester Research is a top analyst studying the impact and new business opportunities created by digital disruption.

The symposium's thirty speakers are experts in broadcast and mobile technologies and will discuss how broadcasters and wireless providers can work together to expand business opportunities and to satisfy future consumer expectations. "Capturing the Moment Through Mobile and Broadcast" will focus on how live events generate attention in a media landscape filled with unlimited content options and how advances in mobile devices, social networks and apps give individuals new ways to consume, share and experience live, newsworthy events.

Newly announced sessions include "Is the Smartphone the Future of Radio?" and "How Mobile Video Is Changing the Broadcast Industry" Brenner and Burnell are among the presenters for "The Automobile, the Smartphone and Broadcast Media" Brenner has worked with NAB Labs, the technology division of NAB, on NextRadio, a smartphone app that allows consumers to enjoy over-the-air local FM radio accompanied by rich graphical media.
