WASHINGTON, DC -- In response to passage of the Innovation Act (H.R. 3309) by the House of Representatives, the following statement can be attributed to NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith:
"NAB applauds Chairman Goodlatte and his colleagues in the House of Representatives for their passage of the Innovation Act with an overwhelming bipartisan majority. Today's vote sends a strong message that lawmakers stand in support of innovation and condemn the harms caused to both the economy and our patent system by so-called 'patent trolls'. America's broadcasters look forward to working with the Senate to ensure that legislation to address this important issue is enacted into law."
