WASHINGTON -- The National Association of Broadcasters today applauded the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) on their approval of a mobile digital television standard.
Commenting on the ATSC announcement, NAB Executive Vice President Dennis Wharton issued the following statement:
"NAB congratulates the ATSC on final adoption of the mobile DTV standard. With today's historic announcement, we look forward to the continuing parallel efforts of the Open Mobile Video Coalition to develop industry consensus on bringing these pro-consumer local TV services to market. We strongly believe that all Americans will benefit from the advanced capabilities of mobile DTV and broadcasters' innovative use of over-the-air spectrum."
