WASHINGTON, DC - Michelle Duke has been named vice president of the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation, NABEF President Marcellus Alexander announced today.
Duke joined NABEF in 2005 as director of diversity services. She was later promoted to vice president of diversity services and development, overseeing several diversity initiatives, including NABEF's Broadcast Leadership Program. In her new role, Duke will assume overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Foundation, reporting directly to NABEF President Marcellus Alexander.
Duke serves on the national board of the American Women in Radio and Television (AWRT) where in June 2009, she was presented with The Star Award by the National Capital Area Chapter of AWRT. She also serves on the boards of the Washington, D.C. chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and the National Association of Minority Media Executives. She is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University.
