WASHINGTON, DC - NAB has distributed two public service announcements to member radio stations urging citizens to vote in tomorrow's midterm elections. Both a 30 second and 60 second version of the Election 2006 PSA can be downloaded from NAB's Web site.
The PSAs feature the song "America the Beautiful" and include a voice-over which tells listeners, among other things, "This November, use your voice. Make your choice. Vote."
The PSAs, which have been available to stations since October, are part of a greater campaign by NAB to raise awareness of the importance of voting. As part of that campaign, NAB has also distributed an election guide to stations, which contains a variety of ideas for voter education, script PSAs and promotional ideas that will help stations spread the word about the importance of casting an informed vote.
