WASHINGTON, DC - Los Angeles radio personality Big Boy will serve as master of ceremonies during The NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show in Dallas on Thursday, September 21, 2006.
Building on the success of his morning show "Big Boy's Neighborhood," which airs weekdays on Emmis Communications' Power 106 Los Angeles, the two-time NAB Marconi Radio Award winner also hosts a nationally syndicated weekend show "Big Boy's Hip Hop Spot." His comedic talents earned him a co-starring role in the movie Deuce Bigelow: Male Gigolo and cameo appearances in several other Hollywood films.
In addition to receiving NAB Marconi Radio Awards in 2002 and 2004, Big Boy has been recognized on numerous other occasions as one of America's top radio personalities. He's been named Personality of the Year four times by the Radio Music Awards and five times by Radio and Records magazine.
Established in 1989 and named after inventor and Nobel Prize winner Guglielmo Marconi, The NAB Marconi Radio Awards are given to radio stations and outstanding on-air personalities to recognize excellence in radio. Winners will be announced at the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas. The evening's events will also include a performance by the broadcaster band "The Formats," led by BMI songwriter Steve Cropper and featuring FCC Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein on harmonica, as previously announced.
