Local Broadcasters Serve as a Lifeline During Major Hurricanes

Broadcasters throughout the Gulf Coast, Florida and Puerto Rico went above and beyond for their communities before, during and after devastating hurricanes, devoting enormous resources to keeping people safe and informed.

To support these efforts, NAB and an alliance of broadcasters and state broadcaster associations delivered 10,000 radios to Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands to provide a lifeline to citizens after being struck by Hurricane Maria. NAB's Suzie Raven and Louis Abanez shared their experiences distributing the radios in Puerto Rico in this video.
