The Emerson Coleman Fellowship

Established with the support of Hearst Television to honor the career and legacy of its senior programming executive, the inaugural class of the Emerson Coleman Fellowship Program (ECF) successfully graduated in August 2023.

• Students took part in eight-week internships and were immersed in the programming and production teams at local television stations. For their final presentations, the students pitched new program ideas to the sponsors.
• Additional support came from charter sponsors: Brooks Pierce, CBS, Comcast/NBCUniversal, Debmar-Mercury, Eyewitness Teen Kids News, FOX, Katz Media Group, Locality, SmithGeiger Group, Soledad O'Brien Productions, Sony Pictures, The CW, The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros. Discovery and Weigel Broadcasting Co.
