6. NAB on the Move
NAB held our winter board meeting in D.C. this week. FCC Commissioner Nathan Simington chatted with NAB President and CEO Curtis LeGeyt during the session. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (LA-4) attended a fundraiser with broadcasters on Monday night and NABPAC held a separate fundraiser on Wednesday for Sen. Jon Tester (MT).
Last week, NAB Senior Vice President, Government Relations Jack Smedile presented a Washington update at the South Carolina Broadcasters Association (SCBA) Awards of Distinction. Also at this event, former SCBA Executive Director Margaret Wallace was presented the 2024 Honorary Life Membership Award.
Earlier this week, Vice President of Government Relations Charlyn Stanberry (pictured right) participated on a panel on communicating the advocacy work of government relations teams at the Public Affairs Council’s Advocacy Conference in Austin, Texas.
