NAB Announces Leadership Transition
NAB President and CEO Gordon H. Smith announced his plans to transition to an advisory and advocacy role effective Dec. 31, 2021. Chief Operating Officer Curtis LeGeyt has been named the next president and CEO of NAB effective Jan. 1, 2022.
In a video message to members, Smith said, "It has been my great honor to give the lion's roar for broadcasters - those who run into the storm, those who stand firm in chaos to hear the voice of the people, those who hold to account the powerful - and to stand with those of the fourth estate who have the hearts of public servants."
NAB Board Election Results Announced
NAB has announced the results of the 2021 NAB Radio and Television Board elections. The two-year terms of the elected board members will begin in June 2021.
Charlyn Stanberry Joins NAB as Vice President of Government Relations
Charlyn Stanberry has joined NAB as vice president of Government Relations. Stanberry comes to NAB after serving as chief of staff for U.S. Rep. Yvette Clarke (NY-09), for whom she previously served as legislative director and counsel. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of the District of Columbia where she teaches Foundation Civics and Ethics and Values.

Crystal Radio Award Winners Announced
The 10 winners of the 34th annual NAB Crystal Radio Awards were announced last week during NAB Show Premiere, available exclusively on NAB Amplify. Since 1987, the NAB Crystal Radio Awards have recognized radio stations for their year-round commitment to community service. Five-time NAB Crystal Radio Award winning station WHUR-FM Washington, D.C., also received the esteemed Crystal Heritage Award during the special event. Only nine other stations have received this honor.
