KING OF COUNTRY MUSIC
“Known as the "King of Country Music," Roy Acuff made music and memories on radio for more than a half-century. He joined WSM's Grand Ole Opry in 1937, where his songs strengthened the quality of radio's country music for several decades. Acuff is best known for the country classics "Wabash Cannonball" and "The Great Speckled Bird."
