Rick Dees caught the broadcast bug in high school, inspiring his passion for and a lifelong career in radio. Dees worked in numerous stations throughout the southeastern United States before moving to Los Angeles. During his 22 years at KIIS-FM, he dominated LA radio. Known for his insatiable thirst to entertain his audience, Dees spent his time on the air forging connection with the audience, treating every listener with respect and genuine warmth.

In 1983, he began his syndicated Top 40 countdown, the show enjoyed by tens of millions around the globe. The recipient of many awards, including Billboard’s Radio Personality of the Year, the People’s Choice and the NAB Marconi Radio Award, Rick Dees has earned his spot at the top of the charts.
