“That’s a winner!” legendary KMOX sportscaster Jack Buck exclaimed with each Cardinals’ victory. Buck’s calls defined the St. Louis baseball experience for many Americans when baseball meant huddling around a radio, playbook in hand. Proclaimed by his many fans as a great broadcaster and an even greater friend to the community, Buck was the voice of the Cardinals for more than half a century.

While he broadcast almost every professional sport including football, announcing CBS Radio’s “Monday Night Football” for 18 seasons and 17 Super Bowls, Buck’s greatest allegiance was to the National Pastime. From announcing numerous World Series games to countless career-making moments, this hall of fame announcer truly is a “winner.”
