Ernie Kovacs began his television career in 1950 at KYW as host of a local cooking show. In 1951, he appeared in “It’s Time for Ernie” and “Ernie in Kovacsland.” Although his TV career was brief, he created enough magic that he became an inspiration for many of today’s finest comedians.
