50 YEARS OF GAMES
Bob Barker began his broadcasting career in local radio. He moved into the national game show arena in 1956 as the long-running host of “Truth or Consequences.” He first appeared on CBS’ “The Price Is Right” on September 4, 1972, and was the face of the show until his retirement in June 2007. For 35 years, he played the same games with contestants and filmed from the same spot – Studio 33, aka the Bob Barker Studio – at CBS Television City. Named the “greatest game show of all time” by TV Guide, the series is the longest-running game show in TV history.
