The Public Affairs department positively positions NAB and the broadcast industry through strategic communications, media and digital outreach, marketing and research to support NAB’s advocacy efforts, events and member-focused initiatives.
The department includes:Media Relations – Develops and executes a proactive public relations strategy that bolsters advocacy efforts, events and other association goals. Achieves positive earned media for NAB and the broadcast industry through outreach to national news media and trade press.
Branding and Marketing – Protects and promotes the NAB brand, ensuring a sophisticated, polished and consistent appearance and voice. Provides strategic support to advocacy campaigns, NAB events, membership, NABPAC and numerous professional development programs.
Messaging – Provides public outreach and grassroots strategy to support NAB’s advocacy efforts. Facilitates member communications to keep broadcasters engaged and informed of NAB’s role as their primary voice in Washington, D.C.
Digital – Utilizes digital platforms, such as websites, social media, blogs and grassroots activations to help NAB achieve advocacy and communications goals.
Public Service – Showcases broadcasters’ commitment to public service, emergency information and investigative journalism and educates policymakers and the public on stations’ unique role in the community.
Research – Utilizes data and information to strengthening NAB’s advocacy before Congress and the FCC and provides broadcast members with information to help them make informed business decisions.
