Making Headway on FCC Regulatory Fees
NAB successfully fought for a significant reduction in certain regulatory fees for radio broadcasters and satellite TV stations that were outlined in the FCC’s order for FY 2019 regulatory fees – a huge victory for broadcasters as the FCC rarely makes any changes to its proposed regulatory fees. In this instance, however, we were able to demonstrate flaws in the Commission's methodology as well as an overall inability to justify some of the FCC's proposed fee increases for radio and television. We also raised concerns about increases that went well above and beyond the fee hikes felt by most other industries.
