Radio and television stations do so much to help our local communities when it comes to service. I remember one time when I worked as an account executive at our radio group we did a Thanksgiving turkey giveaway on one of our newer radio stations. We partnered with a local Boys and Girls Club to set up and distribute many turkeys for those in need during the Thanksgiving season.
It was moving when people would come up and thank you for providing food for many families who may not have had as good of a Thanksgiving without this help. This is an integral part of what broadcasters do during the entire year: Helping those in need whether it is helping to feed others, provide assistance in times of natural disaster, or informing viewers and listeners about local events.
