I've attended more NAB Shows than I can count. I remember when I first attended, and I was a new aspiring filmmaker/editor.
As I approached the Convention Center, my eyes got really big, and just seeing all the cameras and gear being advertised, even outside the venue told me that I was about to experience a whole lot of wonderful that I had never seen before. I indulged, and was very happy to see my non-linear editing software of choice, AVID, being represented at every turn. I had, at the time, even considered learning to cut on a Moviola) as at the time, much of production and post was still done on film. But I stuck to my guns of editing on Avid, and learned the system inside and out, and was glad it was on both PC and Mac, as I was versed in both.
Since that day, I have returned practically every year, with only the pandemic keeping me away last year. NAB has really kept me up to speed on many of the new technologies, where I could see and touch the new, and see what I could find to help out my own projects. If it wasn't for NAB, I definitely would not be flying drones and seeking out new equipment in this fashion. It's everything post and production. LOVE, LOVE, Love It! I've also met many people like myself here.

You were just glued to the screen. That song came on the radio. The best NAB Show you ever attended.
