I drove by a local community station, saw the logo, and tuned them in. I heard an enthusiastic DJ inspiring his listeners but noticed the sound lacked stereo separation. Having an amateur radio license, I thought I might be able to help and, eventually, did find the missing channels.
They were delighted and I stayed on and wound up gaining an amazing amount of technical knowledge about programming, mixing, scheduling, networking, emergency announcements, and special needs.
The star DJ is 100% blind and I set out to help by making special blind mice and telephone patches, etc. When I saw the NAB Show coming up, I decided to go and try to find things specific to our needs. We might be able to buy rather than homebrew, although that is a great amateur tradition.

You were just glued to the screen. That song came on the radio. The best NAB Show you ever attended.
