Scott Goodwin joined the Legal and Regulatory Affairs department at the National Association of Broadcasters in 2006 as a staff attorney and was promoted to associate general counsel in 2009. Prior to joining NAB, Scott was a law clerk in the Denver office of Kissinger & Fellman, P.C., where he worked on telecommunications issues affecting local broadcasters and local franchise authorities.
Raised in the blue-collar, auto industry-dominated Detroit suburb of Westland, Michigan, Scott first gained his foothold into the media culture as a local reporter covering politics and sports. He also has extensive experience in the computer industry, working in sales, marketing and management positions.
A graduate of the University of Michigan, Scott holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law in 2005, where he served as managing editor of the Journal on Telecommunications and High Technology Law. While in law school, Scott helped guide his team to the finals of the National Telecommunications Moot Court Competition, as well as the finals of the campus-wide flag football tournament.
He is a member of the California State Bar, the District of Columbia Bar and the Federal Communications Bar Association.
